This is the 32nd year the Lancaster County Project for the Needy organization has been distributing Christmas food boxes. Their mission is to make sure all families in the area have food on the table Christmas Day. The organization will prepare and hand out, with community support, an estimated 2,400 food boxes, feeding an estimated 8,000 people.
The food is given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Groceries given to each individual or family are equivalent to two grocery bags and include items such as a turkey, stuffing, gravy, eggs, milk, bread, potatoes, vegetables and fruit. The Penn State Club of Lancaster County assists in this effort by participating in the delivery of food boxes to registered participants who cannot come to the event at Clipper Stadium. Those participating should join the line of cars in the parking lot behind the left field
fence beginning at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 22nd and receive food boxes to be delivered to homes and apartments. It is well organized, and drivers are needed to serve the community. Plan to join us at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 22nd and help us support our community.
