The Lancaster Chapter held our first THON fundraiser on Saturday, February 21,  2026.  The three-hour event featured music by The Krackerbeez, a catered lunch, games, and Berkey Creamery Ice Cream.  The event raised $1,001.88 which, when added to our Game Watch THON Tip Jar, and our Chapter contribution, brought our donation total just short of $2,500.  Thanks to the folks at New Town, Phil Kresge from the Krackerbeez, and those that attended and supported this effort.

The 2026 Annual Golf Outing was held on Friday May 15 at Fairview Golf Course.  The Outing is typically our largest fundraiser and all proceeds go towards our scholarship fund.  This year we’ll award $35,000 to students from Lancaster County schools who enroll in any Penn State Campus.

The annual Penn State Night at the Stormers was held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Penn Medicine Park.  The Stormers welcomed, and defeated, the Ghost Peppers from Gastonia, North Carolina.  The Stormers, clearly inspired by the White out crowd, had 12 hits and scored 12 runs as they handled the Ghost Peppers 12-5.  The National Anthem was sung by Penn State Alumna Angel Shonk.  And recent scholarship winners threw out first pitches.  Hope you can join us next year!

The Penn State Alumni Association Lancaster Chapter’s 2026 Raffle Ticket drawing was help on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Arooga’s in Lancaster.  Many thanks to those who sold tickets, and a huge thank you to those of you who purchased tickets.  Without a doubt, the biggest thank you goes to our sponsors.  Hope you catch us next year!

Our Freshmen Sendoff will be held on Sunday July 26, 2026 at Long’s Park.  Over 75 students and family members attended last year’s sendoff as they learned about the University from alumni, parents, and current students.  Getting to meet these students is truly a pleasure and we hope that you are a part of this year’s event.  More details to follow.

The Berkey Creamery Ice Cream fundraiser was held on Saturday, August  8, 2026 as part of the Lititz Craft Show.  Overcast skies turned into a downpour early afternoon and put a halt to our fundraiser.  With that said, we raised around $2,000 for our scholarship fund.  Many thanks for our volunteers and customers.  Also, a huge thank you to Linden Hall for allowing us to use their freezer.  Looking forward to next year – Saturday, August 14, 2027.  If you’d like to volunteer, let us know by contacting Rick Miller at rickmillercompany@gmail.com.
